Magnetic Memo Pads

Hello there!

Sneaking in with a quick post. Things have been hectic around here for a short while and I have not had time to do much blogging....sorry! I promise to try to get back up to speed soon!

In the mean time, I can show you a fabulous gift idea I shared with friends last week. This 'gift' was inspired by my dear friend Paola, who shared what she had done when making these up for a shop in her area. Thank you dear heart!

I modified mine slightly, by adding a firm strip of plastic underneath the sentiment so that the paper would be able to tear of easily. Basically, this is a memo pad with a very strong magnetic sheet on the back, that will stay firmly in place on your refrigerator. Ideal for everyone to write down when the 'last' item has been used....ha-ha-ha! In real life, we know that does not happen, but we can only try.....lol!

Three different versions! I could not stop making them......

I used ordinary gift wrap, applied with Modge and neatly folded to the back. The Magnet hid the paper ends and ribbon back perfectly.

This is the one I shared with friends.
This is my favorite one and needless to say, the 'girls' loved it as well. They all got stuck in and played all morning. It was such fun and we will be doing it again soon!

Thanks for popping in to see what I have been up to.

See you then and thanks so much for stopping in.

  5. Awesome gift idea Moz, and I love that you can just tear off the piece of paper you need instead of one whole page in the normal paper pads with only one or two items written on it. (yes, I have to write down even if it is only one or two things otherwise this brain just forgets!). Please let me know when you give this class again.

  7. Hi Moz! I happened upon your blog the other day and have been looking at some of your beautiful work when I've had a chance. So sorry I have not taken the time yet to leave any comments. But, I just couldn't believe it when I saw this post this morning... talk about taking me back in time. :) It took me back to my mom and the ladies group at church so many years and years ago. At one time, they actually sold memo thingies similar to these. The ones they sold were manufactured somewhere and were more utilitarian in their look rather than being handmade like these and they might have been larger as they were made to sit on a desk or table by the phone rather than hang on the fridge, but the roll of paper and the idea is the same. I would have never thought about making something like this, as those from long ago were made out of metal and came from a factory somewhere, but these are just wonderful!!! Wish you would have included a tutorial or some info on how they are made in your post. Now I'll be scouring the Internet in hopes of finding some info. :) :) :) Anyway... I'm enjoying your cards and other goodies. Your work is just gorgeous!
